Ständige Vertretung stands for Permanent Mission. In times of the cold war the West-German Federal Republic and the East German Democratic Republic didn’t have regular embassies, but Permanent Missions in Bonn and East-Berlin. Nowadays Ständige Vertretung represents Rhenish food specialities and beer. Excellent tarte flambee (Flammekuchen).
